Real-time support for limerence, anxious attachment, and compulsive checking.
Paused is built for the exact moment between an impulse and a decision you'll regret. Not therapy. Not meditation. Something that meets you right here.

You're on the list.
We'll reach out when early access opens. In the meantime — if you know someone who's been here too, send them this.
You've read about it. You understand the pattern. You might even know exactly what's happening in your nervous system when it starts.
And still. At 11pm on a Tuesday, the pull is stronger than everything you know about it.
That's not a failure of knowledge. That's a timing problem. The moment between knowing and doing — that gap — has nothing in it. That's what Paused is for.
Whether it's limerence, anxious attachment, or a compulsive checking pattern — the loop is the same.
This is how it starts.
Feel the pull — open Paused.
No setup. No breathing exercise to remember. Just open it in the moment the urge is loudest.
Name what's happening.
That shift — from inside the urge to observing it — is already meaningful work. Naming it changes it.
Wait with it. Then choose.
A short, timed pause creates space between you and the action. The choice is still yours. The space is new.
Paused is built for the patterns where knowing isn't enough. The loop you can't interrupt, even when you understand exactly what it is.
If you've looked it up, you already know what's happening. What you need isn't more understanding. It's something that meets you in the moment. Also available for practitioners →
We're building this carefully. The people in early access will shape what it becomes.
Limerence is an involuntary state of intense attachment — characterised by intrusive thoughts, compulsive checking, and emotional highs and lows tied to another person’s perceived responsiveness. Most tools address limerence in hindsight, through journaling or therapy. Paused is designed for the moment it peaks: when the urge to check or reach out feels impossible to sit with.
Compulsive checking usually isn’t a willpower problem — it’s a timing problem. The urge arrives before any decision is made. Paused meets you at that moment, creates a short timed pause, and gives you the space to choose rather than react. It won’t block the app. It gives you a window.
Anxious attachment is a relational pattern — a way of connecting to others shaped by early experience. Limerence is a specific state of obsessive focus on one person. They often co-occur, but they’re distinct. Paused supports both: it’s built for the moment the pattern activates, regardless of what you call it.
